Sharing a Message of Thanks
As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to share a simple but deeply felt thank-you.
Thank you for trusting us with something as fundamental as keeping your lights on. I know that sounds basic, but when you flip that switch and the lights come on, your heat kicks in on a cold morning, your refrigerator hums along preserving your family’s food, you’re counting on us. That trust means everything to our team.
Thank you for understanding we’re always doing our best for you. When a storm knocks out power at 2 a.m., our crews don’t hesitate to leave their warm beds and head out into the cold. When you call with a question about your bill, our customer service team genuinely wants to help you find a solution. When we’re planning for the future, we’re thinking about your family, your business, and our community because we live here, too. We’re your neighbors.
That’s what makes public power different. We don’t answer to distant corporate shareholders trying to maximize profits. We answer to you—the people we see at the grocery store, whose children play on the same sports teams as ours, who wave when we pass on the street.
Thank you for believing in our commitment to keep your rates affordable. I know how hard everyone works for their money. Every investment the PUD makes—whether it’s replacing aging infrastructure or upgrading equipment—we approach thoughtfully, always weighing what you need today against what will keep your service reliable for years to come. It’s a balance we take seriously because we know these are real dollars coming from real families.
Thank you for your patience when outages occur and for those friendly waves to our crews working in bucket trucks. You might be surprised how much those small gestures lift their spirits, especially during tough jobs in rough weather.
As we head into the holiday season, I’m reminded that what we do here goes beyond delivering electricity. We’re part of something bigger: a community that looks out for one another, pulls together when times are tough, and believes in taking care of our neighbors.
From the PUD family to yours, thank you for allowing us to serve you. Thank you for your trust, patience, and belief in what we can accomplish together. We’re grateful for this community and honored to be your utility.
