Purpose:
Northern Wasco County PUD (NWCPUD or the District) supports economic development initiatives that promote economic growth and the expansion or addition of business within our service territory. Through strategic allocation of Board-authorized resources, the District seeks to foster sustainable economic opportunities that strengthen our community’s prosperity and resilience for all residents.
Criteria:
Projects must be located and promote economic growth within Northern Wasco County PUD’s service territory.
Evaluation and Award Process:
All economic development funding requests are evaluated by the General Manager/CEO based on the goals outlined in the Economic Development Policy to ensure alignment with Program requirements and community benefit objectives. The evaluation process includes:
- Assessment of each application’s potential economic benefit to our service territory.
- Review of funding requests against annual budget allocations and established program goals.
This is a discretionary program, and there is no right to funding, even if a program qualifies. Program recipients will be awarded as funding is available and at the sole discretion of the General Manager/CEO. All decisions are final.
Program Specifications:
Program recipients must agree that funds will be used only for the purposes and activities described in the application, and that all unused or excess funds will be returned to NWCPUD.
The 2026 application window has closed. All decisions will be made and communicated to Program winners by June 30, 2026.
Verification Process:
Economic Development Program recipients must agree to submit regular progress reports to NWCPUD and must agree that NWCPUD personnel may perform intermittent reviews and onsite project inspections. The first progress report must be submitted to NWCPUD within 4 weeks of the Program award selection or project inception. Upon project completion, verification of costs and a final report must be submitted to NWCPUD.
Failure to comply with reporting requirements will result in disqualification from any subsequent Economic Development Programs.
